Examinations conducted by qualified Royal Academy of Dance examiners are a great way for students to track their achievements in ballet. Certificates are awarded to successful candidates and are recognized throughout the world. Exams are not mandatory and it is up to the teacher to decide at what stage students are  ready to enter an exam.

Examination fees are set by the Royal Academy of Dance and are not included in class tuition fees. Exam fees are non-refundable.

Students wishing to take their exam must register for a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week. Additional technique and conditioning classes are strongly recommended for exam students.

Please refer to Programs and Classes as some classes will not have recital choreography; typically Adult classes, Micro Ballet, Pointe Technique and Vocational Levels will not be included in the recital.
All fees must be up to date in order to purchase tickets and/or a digital download of the recital.

Additional performance opportunities are offered through competitions or as choreography packages, please contact the school for more details.

The 2023-24 Yearend Show will be held on June 9, 2024. Tickets for the show will go on sale in May and will be available until the day of the show or until tickets sell out. Students will be required to purchase a costume for each routine performed in the show.

Competitions and festivals give students additional opportunities to learn choreography and perform on stage while garnering constructive feedback from a professional panel of judges. Raincity Dance participates in three local events per year in the spring.

Competitive classes are by invitation only, please contact the office for information and requirements on joining our competitive division.
